Twins' Pelfrey lands on DL

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Twins placed pitcher Mike Pelfrey on the 15-day disabled list with a left groin strain on Saturday.

Pelfrey suffered the injury in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Dodgers. The right-hander gave up five runs over four innings.

In five starts this season, Pelfrey is 0-3 with a 7.99 ERA. He will be replaced in the rotation by right-hander Samuel Deduno.

To replace Pelfrey on the 25-man roster, the Twins recalled infielder Danny Santana from Triple-A Rochester. Santana was hitting .268 with seven doubles, two triples, seven RBI, six walks and four stolen bases in 24 games with Rochester.
