Dodgers' Ryu out with sore shoulder

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers placed pitcher Hyun- Jin Ryu on the 15-day disabled list among a flurry of moves prior to Friday's game against the Miami Marlins.

The team listed Ryu's injury as inflammation in his left shoulder and backdated the DL stint to April 28, one day after the native Korean was tagged for six runs -- five earned -- and nine hits over five innings in a loss to Colorado.

Ryu had delivered quality starts in each of his three previous outings and has compiled a 3-2 record with a 3.00 earned run average over seven appearances this season.

The Dodgers have yet to announce who will take the mound for Ryu's scheduled start on Sunday.

Los Angeles also optioned reliever Paco Rodriguez to Triple-A Albuquerque while recalling veteran utilityman Chone Figgins and pitcher Jose Dominguez from the Isotopes.

Rodriguez, who has struggled to a 6.43 ERA in 10 games this season, has thrown a combined 40 pitches over the last two days. Dominguez made four appearances with the Dodgers earlier in the year, but permitted six runs and a pair of homers in five innings of work.

Figgins saw action in nine games with Los Angeles prior to being optioned back to Albuquerque on April 21, going 1-for-6 with three walks. The 36-year-old has hit .280 with a .419 on-base percentage in Triple-A.
