St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Matt Garza left his start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday with a right thumb contusion.
Garza exited after walking Matt Carpenter to start the bottom of the fourth inning. Wei-Chung Wang replaced Garza on the mound.

Prior to the injury, Garza gave up five runs on five hits with four strikeouts and four walks. The right-hander entered Wednesday's game with a 1-2 mark and 4.09 ERA in five games this season.
The Brewers said Garza is day-to-day.
