MIAMI, April 28 (UPI) -- LeBron James and other Miami Heat players wore their warm-up shirts inside-out before their playoff game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday, mimicking the Los Angeles Clippers silent protest against owner Donald Sterling.

Clippers guard Chris Paul said Sunday that his team had decided not to boycott the game because of racist comments attributed to Sterling. They staged a protest instead, hiding the logos on their warm-ups, wearing black socks and armbands and dropping their jackets on the court.

In a similar move on Monday, the Heat gathered at center court and removed their t-shirts to reveal inside-out warm ups.

James was openly critical of Sterling's alleged remarks over the weekend, telling reporters that the league had "no room" for racism.

Heat guard Dwyane Wade said Monday that the Clippers players "did a great job of handling" the controversy.

"There’s no right or wrong answer and there’s no book to tell you how to handle this situation," he added. “We’re in full support of the Clippers -- the players, most importantly. We are a group, a unit. Even though we compete against each other we always want to be a group."
