Penguins recall F Conner prior to Game 3

Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forward Chris Conner from his conditioning assignment with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League prior to Monday's Game 3 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Conner had hand surgery back in early January and hasn't appeared in a game with Pittsburgh since Dec. 31.

He played in two games with the club's AHL affiliate over the weekend in preparation for returning to the lineup for Game 3.

The 30-year-old winger posted four goals and one assist over 19 games with the Penguins prior to sustaining the injury.

The Blue Jackets stole Game 2 in double overtime on Saturday to even the best- of-seven series at one game apiece.
