(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to tee off on the Arizona Diamondbacks again when the NL West rivals clash Friday under the lights at Chavez Ravine.
The Dodgers are 5-0 against the Diamondbacks this season after two wins in Australia and a three-game sweep at Arizona last weekend. The Dodgers have won 12 of the last 15 games in this series.
Los Angeles went 4-2 on a recent road trip against Arizona and San Francisco, and salvaged the finale of a three-game series with the Giants by recording a 2-1 victory Thursday. Hyun-Jin Ryu threw seven scoreless innings to improve to 3-1, Brian Wilson tossed a scoreless eighth and Kenley Jansen worked around a run in the ninth for his fifth save.
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Tim Federowicz added an RBI single for the Dodgers, who were coming off back-to-back one-run losses.
"Every game's important, especially when you've lost two one-run games in a row," said Gonzalez, who is on a 12-game winning streak.
LA shortstop Hanley Ramirez missed the game with a right hand injury. He was hit in the hand by a pitch in Wednesday's loss. X-rays on his hand came back negative and he could return Friday.
Dodgers slugger Yasiel Puig went 1-for-4 and was in the news recently about smugglers who helped him leave Cuba are threatening him.
The Dodgers will play 10 in a row at home versus Arizona, Philadelphia and Colorado.
Zack Greinke aims for a 4-0 start when he takes the mound Friday for the Dodgers. Greinke is 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA in three starts and last toed the rubber in an 8-5 win at Arizona on Saturday. He permitted only a run and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings, improving to 3-3 in nine career starts against the Diamondbacks. His ERA against them is rather high at 4.96.
Arizona has the worst winning percentage in the majors at .222 and lost all six games on its latest homestand versus Los Angeles and the New York Mets.
The D'Backs will play seven in a row on the road versus the Dodgers and Chicago Cubs, and suffered a 5-2 loss to the Mets on Wednesday. Brandon McCarthy fell to 0-3 on the season by allowing three runs in 5 2/3 innings and both Aaron Hill and Paul Goldschmidt homered.
"Mack threw good enough to win that game," D'Backs manager Kirk Gibson said. "We played poorly. We made mistakes, we ran into an out, we made a couple of errors, we're not able to contain guys running the bases and we're not able to throw the ball to first base."
Martin Prado posted three hits in the loss.
Wade Miley draws the start for Arizona Friday and he will make his fifth appearance already. He is 2-2 with a 5.04 ERA over his first four trips to the hill and is coming off an 8-5 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday, when he surrendered a season-high five runs and eight hits in five innings.
Miley had won his previous two outings and dropped to 3-3 in 10 games (9 starts) against Los Angeles.
