Blackhawks coach Quenneville fined $25,000

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The National Hockey League has fined Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville $25,000 for inappropriate conduct.

The incident took place during Thursday's Game 1 of their Western Conference playoff series against the St. Louis Blues.

At 6:51 of the second overtime, officials met to decide whether St. Louis should be called for a delay of game penalty that would have given the Blackhawks a two-man advantage.

No penalty was called and cameras caught Quenneville grabbing his crotch and yelling at the officials.

"I was definitely excited, disappointed [in] the call, but I'll apologize for my behavior," Quenneville said on Friday. "It wasn't appropriate at all. It was a bush-league move on my part."

The Blackhawks ended up losing in the third overtime and trail the playoff series 1-0.
