St. Louis Cardinals defeat Milwaukee Brewers 4-0

Lance Lynn pitched seven scoreless innings to help the St. Louis Cardinals to a 4-0 shutout of the Milwaukee Brewers in the opener of a three-game set.

Lynn (3-0) gave up just three hits with three walks while striking out 11 to win his third straight start to begin the season. Jhonny Peralta hit a solo home run and Jon Jay clubbed a three-run shot for the Cardinals, who have won three straight.

Matt Garza (0-2) was touched for four runs on nine hits with a walk and six strikeouts in seven innings of work for the Brewers, who had won nine straight coming in. Jean Segura had two of the three hits for Milwaukee.
