PHOENIX, April 9 (UPI) -- WWE's The Ultimate Warrior died Tuesday after collapsing while walking to his vehicle with his wife in Arizona. He was 54.

The cause of death wasn't reported.

The Ultimate Warrior, whose birth name was Brian Hellwig, had recently made his first appearance on Monday Night Raw in years after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last week.

The WWE released a statement Tuesday, saying the organization was "shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior."

"We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was also able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans. WWE sends its sincere condolences to Warrior’s family, friends and fans," the statement continued.

Fellow wrestlers took to Twitter to express their sadness and sympathy to The Ultimate Warrior's family, which includes a wife and two daughters.
