Pro Bowl will take place in Arizona in 2015

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NFL announced Wednesday that the 2015 Pro Bowl will be played in Arizona.

A week before Super Bowl XLIX is played at University of Phoenix Stadium in February, the NFL's annual All-Star game will be played at the same place. The Pro Bowl following the 2014 season will be played on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015.

The 2015 Pro Bowl will be the third one played in the same city as the Super Bowl. The Los Angeles Coliseum hosted the first Super Bowl on Jan. 15, 1967 and the Pro Bowl the following week. South Florida hosted the Pro Bowl in 2010 a week before Super Bowl XLIV.

It's only the second time since the Pro Bowl first was played at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii in 1980 that the game has been held elsewhere. The aforementioned 2010 game was played in Miami.

The Pro Bowl will return to Hawaii in 2016, with the game scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016.

The NFL has an agreement with the State of Hawaii to play the Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium following the 2016 season but final confirmation of the game will be made at a later date.
