Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran goaltender Tomas Vokoun is heading to the American Hockey League on a conditioning assignment, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced Wednesday.
Vokoun, who will report to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, has yet to play in an NHL game this season while recovering from a surgical procedure to dissolve a blood clot in his pelvis back in September.

The 37-year-old Czech supplanted a shaky Marc-Andre Fleury in the playoffs last spring and backstopped Pittsburgh to the Eastern Conference finals.
Vokoun has 300 wins in 700 career games.
