Dodgers activate Beckett from disabled list

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers activated starting pitcher Josh Beckett from the 15-day disabled list and the right- hander will make his 2014 debut against Detroit on Wednesday.

Beckett suffered from a right thumb contusion and will replace Jose Dominguez on the active roster.

Dominguez, who made three relief appearances for the Dodgers this season, was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque to make room for Beckett.

Beckett made three starts during the 2014 Cactus League campaign, compiling an 0-1 record with a 5.63 ERA before landing on the disabled list. He last pitched in the Majors on May 13, 2013 against Washington before landing on the disabled list because of a neck injury that required surgery and ended his season.
