Golfer John Daly smokes 40 cigarettes and drinks 10-12 Diet Cokes per day

Daly says despite his addiction, he is "fit for most people."

AUGUSTA, Ga., April 8 (UPI) -- Golfer John Daly revealed that he has a serious addiction and smokes 40 cigarettes per day and drinks 10-12 cans of Diet Coke.

The 10-12 cans is actually a reduction from the 26-28 cans of Diet Coke he used to drink until he got his lap band surgery, which restricts his consumption. He says he has to drink it with ice and slowly and not from the can as he cannot drink it straight because of the carbonation.

Daly says that even though he has the two bad habits, he is still fit.

"I'm overweight and everything but we are all fit; we walk six or seven miles a day, that's plenty of exercise for most people," he told the Guardian. "Some guys want to do a little more cardio training; I can't see me being allowed to smoke a cigarette on a treadmill. I don't think they will let me into the gym if I do that. Will they?"

Daly has not had an alcoholic drink in almost 6 years.
