(SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors are still jockeying for playoff positioning and will resume a three-game homestand Sunday versus the Utah Jazz at Oracle Arena.
The Warriors are currently sixth in the Western Conference standings -- 1 1/2 games behind Portland and 1 1/2 games ahead of Dallas -- and opened the stay with Friday's 102-69 bashing of Sacramento.
Klay Thompson led seven Golden State players in double figures with 21 points, Harrison Barnes added 16 and Jermaine O'Neal posted 13 and nine rebounds. Stephen Curry also scored 13 points for Golden State, which made 45 percent of its shots and scored 18 points off 16 turnovers.
"We understood what we had to do tonight and the guys did exactly that," said Warriors coach Mark Jackson. "Guys needed rest and guys got rest tonight. We took care of business."
Golden State led by as many as 42 points and carried a 59-27 lead into the break. It held the Kings to season lows of 69 points and 32.1 percent shooting and matched its win total (47) from last season with six to play.
The Warriors have alternated wins and losses over the last seven games and improved to 25-13 as the host. They will close the homestand Thursday versus Denver.
The last time Golden State was 19 games over. 500 was back on April 23, 1994 (50-31). It has gone 16-7 since the All-Star break.
Warriors big men Andrew Bogut (hip) and David Lee (hamstring) are doubtful versus the Jazz.
Utah is coming off a 100-96 win versus New Orleans on Friday, when Gordon Hayward and Alec Burks scored 21 points apiece.
Derrick Favors compiled 20 points, nine rebounds and four blocks, while Enes Kanter added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Jazz, who snapped a five- game slide and won for just the second time in 13 tries.
"I thought the guys, for a stretch, executed the offense really well," Utah head coach Tyrone Corbin remarked. "I thought we were better defensively tonight. We made a few turnovers. We have to continue to get better there."
The Jazz are 8-30 on the road and hope to stop a five-game road losing streak in Golden State. Utah's last road win was March 8 at Philadelphia.
The Warriors are 3-0 against the Jazz this season and have never swept a season series against them. Hayward is averaging 13.3 points against Golden State this season, while Curry is posting 27.0 ppg in three meetings with Utah.
