Gardner-Webb sets 2014 schedule

Boiling Springs, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Gardner-Webb football is ready to try to build on its highest win total since 2003 this year.

The Big South Conference university announced a 12-game schedule on Friday, including a trip to Wake Forest and five home games.

The Runnin' Bulldogs finished 7-5 last season.

Following an Aug. 30 season opener at Furman, the Runnin' Bulldogs will go to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest on Sept. 6.

Coach Carroll McCray's squad will host Virginia-Lynchburg (Sept. 13), Wofford (Sept. 20) and Charlotte (Oct. 4) in non-conference games, and Coastal Carolina (Nov. 1) and Presbyterian (Nov. 15) in Big South games.
