CONWAY, Ark., April 3 (UPI) -- A bench-clearing brawl broke out in the 10th inning of Central Arkansas's game against Arkansas-Little Rock in Conway, Ark., on Wednesday night.

It all started when Central Arkansas Bears head coach Allen Gum began arguing over a call with Trojans head coach Scott Norwood. The situation escalated when another player from Central Arkansas pushed Norwood to the ground, prompting both teams to rush the field.

"Emotions sometimes run high in athletic contests, particularly in close, highly-contested games such as Wednesday night’s extra-inning game," Central Arkansas Athletics Director Dr. Brad Teague said in a statement. "And sometimes those emotions get out of hand, which was the case last night at Bear Stadium."

Several plays from both teams received multiple game suspensions.
