Dodgers place Brian Wilson on DL

San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers placed reliever Brian Wilson on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday.

The move, which is retroactive to March 31, is due to ulnar nerve inflammation in his right elbow.

Wilson, who hadn't pitched in the majors in 16 months due to elbow problems and subsequent Tommy John surgery, finally came off the DL in mid- August and helped LA take the NL West title. He finished 2-1 with an 0.66 earned run average -- allowing one run in 13 2/3 innings -- with one save in 18 games, but lost his lone decision this year in two appearances.

The 32-year-old led the National League with 48 saves with the Giants in 2010 and closed out San Francisco's championship-clinching victory in Game 5 of that year's World Series against the Texas Rangers. Wilson pitched just two games in 2012 before being diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament.

Los Angeles recalled pitcher Jose Dominguez from Triple-A Alburquerque to take the roster spot.
