NY Yankees come out over Pittsburgh in spring training finale

CC Sabathia threw four scoreless innings in his final spring tune-up to help the New York Yankees to a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh.

CC Sabathia threw four scoreless innings in his final spring tune-up to help the New York Yankees to a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh.

Sabathia, slated to take the mound for Tuesday's season opener at Houston, yielded just three singles and concluded his Grapefruit League stint with a 1.29 earned run average.

Ichiro Suzuki, Eduardo Nunez and Zoilo Almonte all had three hits and an RBI to pace the Yankees offensively, while Adonis Garcia went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the victory.

Nevin Ashley had two hits and Gift Ngoepe delivered an RBI triple for Pittsburgh. Pirates starter Stolmy Pimentel worked four innings, permitting four runs on nine hits.
