Los Angeles Kings defeat Pittsburgh 3-2

Drew Doughty scored the game-winner early in the third period and the Los Angeles Kings stayed hot on the road with a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Alec Martinez and Jeff Carter also scored for the Kings, who have won eight straight away from home to tie the franchise's longest road winning streak set from Dec. 18, 1974-Jan. 16, 1975.

Martin Jones stopped 35-of-37 shots for Los Angeles, which has won five in a row and sits third in the Pacific Division.

Taylor Pyatt and Chris Kunitz lit the lamp for the Metropolitan Division- leading Penguins, who came into Thursday's game needing one point to clinch a playoff spot.

Jeff Zatkoff turned aside 29-of-32 shots for Pittsburgh, which has dropped three straight.
