Will Middlebrooks drove in the game- deciding run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Middlebrooks went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI double and Mike McCoy, A.J. Pierzynski and David Ross picked up an RBI apiece for Boston, which saw starter John Lackey strike out six through 6 1/3 innings while only allowing four hits.

Aaron Hicks drove in the Twins lone run as he went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Kevin Correia surrendered one run on six hits over five innings on the hill.
