Kreider sidelined by hand injury

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Rangers announced Wednesday that forward Chris Kreider will be out at least through the club's upcoming western road swing with a hand injury.

"We'll probably know here in the next couple of days what our course of action will be," Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said after a morning practice session. "He got hurt in the Columbus game. There was very limited pain, but now we have to decide what to do."

The 22-year-old has totaled 17 goals and 20 assists over 66 games in his first full NHL campaign.

New York recalled forward J.T. Brown from Hartford of the American Hockey League to take the open roster spot.

The Rangers, who head into a home contest against the Flyers one point ahead of their division rivals, will play Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Colorado from this coming Friday through Apr. 3.
