NFL office can help officials with replay

Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The NFL approved a rule change Tuesday that will enable a game referee to consult with the officiating department at league headquarters on replays.

The league office in New York will have the opportunity to begin reviewing a play in question once a challenge has been initiated. When the referee reaches the replay booth, he can ask the league office for help in what to look for.

The final call, however, will still be determined by the game referee.

In addition, league owners on Tuesday also voted to give players more protection on roll-up blocks.
