Texas Rangers vault over Oakland

Mitch Moreland stroked a two-run single during a five-run sixth inning that vaulted the Texas Rangers to a 6-2 win over the Oakland Athletics on Monday in spring training action.

Mitch Moreland stroked a two-run single during a five-run sixth inning that vaulted the Texas Rangers to a 6-2 win over the Oakland Athletics on Monday in spring training action.

Prince Fielder, Alex Rios and Robinson Chirinos plated a run apiece during the rally, while Guilder Rodriguez added a run-scoring single in the seventh for the Rangers.

Texas starter Ryan Feierabend fired four scoreless innings of four-hit ball in the win.

Alberto Callaspo collected three of Oakland's eight hits, while John Jaso and Chris Gimenez each drove in a run for the A's. Starter Sean Murphy allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out two over 4 1/3 scoreless frames.
