Durant, Johnson named NBA Players of the Week

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant and Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson have been named the Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the period ending March 23.

Durant guided the Thunder to a 3-0 week, netting at least 35 points in all three games and averaging a league-best 40.3 points during the stretch. Durant scored 35 points in road wins over Chicago and Cleveland before erupting for 51 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in a double-overtime win in Toronto. The Thunder superstar also hit the game-winning basket against the Raptors.

The Nets were also perfect last week, posting a 4-0 mark with Johnson leading the way. He averaged 22 points and hit on 14-of-24 shots from behind the arc.

Other nominees included New Orleans' Anthony Davis, New York's Carmelo Anthony and Houston's James Harden, among others.
