David Kravish tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, as the California Golden Bears made easy work of the Utah Valley Wolverines, 77-64, in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament at Haas Pavilion.

Kravish shot 7-of-9 from the field for Cal (20-13), which will play Arkansas in the second round. Justin Cobbs registered 13 points and seven assists, Jordan Mathews also scored 13, while Jabari Bird and Jeff Powers rounded out the balanced attack with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

For Utah Valley (20-12), the regular-season champions of the Western Athletic Conference, Holton Hunsaker led all scorers with 22 points and Ben Aird logged 19 points and nine rebounds.

Cal took a 43-34 lead into intermission after shooting an impressive 55.9 percent from the field in the first half. Utah Valley, meanwhile, made good on only 41.2 percent of its tries from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

The Wolverines cut their deficit to just six early in the second half, but the Bears put an end to the threat with 11 unanswered points and cruised to victory from there.

Cal's bench outscored Utah Valley's reserves by a lopsided 30-4 margin.
