March 15 (UPI) --
Defensive end Julius Peppers
has not only switched teams by signing with the Green Bay Packers, the former Chicago Bears player has switched sides in a long-running rivalry.
Peppers signed a three-year contract with the Packers worth up to $30 million Saturday.
The Bears released Peppers Tuesday in an effort to save $9.8 million in cap space.
His agent, Carl Carey, announced the move Saturday on Twitter with a photo of Peppers checking out the famous Lambeau Field.
