Cardinals fly over Houston

Matt Carpenter and Xavier Scruggs each drove in a pair of runs as St. Louis took down Houston by a 6-4 score in Grapefruit League action.

Matt Carpenter and Xavier Scruggs each drove in a pair of runs as St. Louis took down Houston by a 6-4 score in Grapefruit League action.

Pete Kozma and Joey Butler added an RBI apiece for the Cardinals. Michael Wacha picked up the win thanks to striking out five and allowing only three hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Jonathan Singleton posted two RBI and Matt Dominguez finished 2-for-4 with a run driven in for the Astros.

Jarred Cosart yielded five runs on as many hits with four strikeouts and two walks over his 3 1/3-inning outing.
