East Rutherford, N.J. -- The New York Giants re-signed kicker Josh Brown and safety Stevie Brown and waived center David Baas on Wednesday.

Josh Brown made 23-of-26 field goal attempts in 16 games last season, his first with the Giants. From Oct. 21 to Dec. 29, Brown succeeded on a Giants- record 17 consecutive field goal attempts.

In 164 career games with the Seahawks (2003-2007), Rams (2008-2011), Bengals (2012) and Giants, Josh Brown has made 254-of-310 field goal attempts and 341- of-343 extra-point tries for 1,103 points.

Stevie Brown missed all of last year after he suffered a torn ACL in the preseason.

In his first season with the Giants in 2012, Stevie Brown led the team with eight interceptions. He added 76 tackles and 11 passes defensed in 16 games (11 starts) at strong safety.

The 26-year-old Stevie Brown joined the Giants after playing with Oakland (2010) and Indianapolis (2011).

The Giants officially designated Baas "waived/failed physical." In addition, the club waived linebacker Marcus Dowtin.

Baas played in a career-low three games last year due to knee and neck injuries.

The 32-year-old Baas spent his first six NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before joining the Giants as a free agent in 2011. The Michigan product started 30 games and appeared in four postseason games with New York, including Super Bowl XLVI.

"The Giants have been absolutely fantastic. They definitely have changed mine and my family's lives forever," Baas said. "Once we get the health issues taken care of, we'll go from there, and maybe there's another chance (to play). Coming back to the Giants, who knows? They've just been really great and the medical staff has been excellent."

Baas has appeared in 122 NFL games (84 starts).
