WNBA preseason starts May 2

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The WNBA preseason will tip off in May with a slate of 12 games in 12 cities.

The opener will feature San Antonio at Tulsa on May 2. Those teams will meet again in San Antonio on May 6.

For the fifth straight year, WNBA teams will face international competition during the preseason. The Australian National team will face the LA Sparks on May 3 and will visit Minnesota to play the Lynx on May 5. Also, the Chinese Olympic team will square off against the Sparks on May 10.

The preseason will conclude May 13 when Washington and Chicago meet at the University of Delaware.

The 18th season of the WNBA will open on May 16 with five games, as New York visits Connecticut, Washington hosts Minnesota, San Antonio travels to Atlanta, Chicago welcomes Indiana and Los Angeles heads to Seattle.
