Seahawks re-sign DE Bennett to multi-year deal

Renton, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Seattle Seahawks re-signed defensive end Michael Bennett to a multi-year deal on Monday, one day before he was scheduled to hit the free agent market.

No terms of the deal were announced, but multiple media outlets reported the pact to be four years in length.

Bennett signed with the Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent on March 13, 2013 and led Seattle with 8 1/2 sacks while playing in all 16 regular-season games with three starts.

The 28-year-old appeared in three playoff games during Seattle's Super Bowl championship run last season and finished with 11 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumbles recoveries.

Since making his NFL debut with Tampa Bay in 2009, Bennett has totaled 129 tackles, 23 1/2 sacks and five forced fumbles in 66 games, including 31 starts, with the Seahawks and Buccaneers.
