By The Sports Network March 10, 2014 at 3:19 PM

New Orleans, La. (SportsNetwork.com) - Albano, owned by Brereton Jones, put in a five-furlong workout Monday at Fair Grounds for the track's $1 million Louisiana Derby on Saturday, March 29.

Trained by Larry Jones, Albano covered the five furlongs in 1:03 3/5 over a fast track.

The 3-year-old colt has finished second in both stakes this winter. He lost to Vicar's in Trouble in Fair Ground's Lecomte Stakes on Jan. 18 and on Feb. 22 was runner-up by a nose to Intense Holiday in the Risen Star Stakes.

The colt, who is ridden by Kerwin Clark, has earned $178,100 with two wins and two seconds in five starts.
