"I can't help but look at the standings," said Tony Allen, who had eight points, six rebounds and four assists.

"(Coach Joerger) probably wants us to stop talking about (the playoffs) and take it one game at a time, which we're trying to do. But you can't help but go online and see what Phoenix's next three games are; see what Golden State's next three games are."

Al Jefferson scored 17 points on just 7-of-17 shooting to lead Charlotte, which had its two-game winning streak snapped. Chris Douglas-Roberts tallied 15 points and Kemba Walker added 11 in the setback.

"Tonight was five (games) in seven (days)," said Bobcats head coach Steve Clifford. "Obviously it's been a tough week."

Memphis jumped out to an 8-2 lead, but Charlotte ripped off 13 straight to grab a 15-8 advantage. Walker started the spurt with a 3-pointer and Douglas-Roberts' layup capped it with just over seven minutes left in the first.

Memphis answered with a 13-2 run of its own to retake the lead and the Grizzlies brought a 25-21 lead after one.

The two teams played a relatively even second quarter, with Memphis edging the Bobcats 27-23 to push the lead to eight, 52-44, at the break. Charlotte pulled within one, 36-35 at the midway point of the stanza, but the Grizzlies locked down defensively from there, outscoring the visitors 16-6 for the remainder of the period.

Conley hit back-to-back 3-pointers to spark a 16-5 run to end the third quarter and help the Grizzlies stretch their lead to 79-61 after three. Memphis poured it on in the fourth, leading by as many as 26 in cruising to its second straight win.
