NCAA Game Summary - George Washington at Fordham

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Maurice Creek scored 24 points to lead the George Washington Colonials to a 70-67 victory over the Fordham Rams in an Atlantic 10 Conference finale at Rose Hill Gym.

Patricio Garino added 18 points and Isaiah Armwood contributed 16 for George Washington (23-7, 11-1 A-10), which won four of its last five games of the regular season.

Branden Frazier scored a game-high 28 points for Fordham (9-20, 2-14), which rides an eight-game losing streak into the upcoming conference tournament. Ryan Canty posted 12 points and 16 rebounds and Jon Severe tallied 11 points on just 3-of-13 from the field.

The Colonials clung to a 31-29 lead at halftime after shooting 40.9 percent from the floor and 11-of-15 from the free-throw line in the first period. The Rams only shot at a 32.4 percent clip in the same time.

George Washington improved to 53.8 percent shooting during the course of the second half, but found itself tied 61-61 with Fordham with 4:16 to play. Back- to-back buckets from Garino over the next minute and change put George Washington ahead again. The Rams were unable to even things from there, going 1-of-6 from the floor with three turnovers down the stretch.

Fordham did not score a single point off of turnovers while George Washington had 10. The Rams also went just 3-of-24 from 3-point distance, compared to a 6-of-12 showing from the Colonials.
