Anthony has the option of becoming a free agent after this season because of an early termination clause in his contract.
The Chicago center and Anthony initially began talking about Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau as there have been a few rumors about him taking over coaching duties in New York next season.
Their talk then shifted to the possibility of Anthony taking his talents to the Windy City.
“The sources said Noah told Anthony something to this effect: You can go to Los Angeles, but if you really want a ring, if you really want your legacy to be about winning, you should come to Chicago.
Anthony responded by telling Noah that he admires how hard the Bulls play and how hungry they are. Anthony also told Noah, according to the sources, that Derrick Rose is his son's favorite player.”
If Chicago wants to sign Anthony, they will likely have to free up some cash by using the amnesty clause on Carlos Boozer and his $16.8 million number, as well as finding someone to take on Mike Dunleavy and his $3 million salary.
Even if they are willing and able to do that, Anthony could still make more money by staying in New York because the Knicks can offer him a max-deal starting at $22.4 million per season.
Anthony will be turning 30 in May.
