MMA fighter Ronda Rousey thinks she could take Floyd Mayweather in the octagon

“I wouldn’t even stand up, I wouldn’t even be anywhere near him. I would just do like a little army crawl over there, and he would have to run away,” Rousey says.

BURBANK, Calif., March 6 (UPI) -- Floyd Mayweather might be undefeated against men in the boxing ring, but a female MMA champion thinks that he if chose to step into the octagon with her, she would walk out with the win.

During an interview with Power 106, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey said she could take welterweight champ Mayweather in an MMA bout.

“I wouldn’t even stand up, I wouldn’t even be anywhere near him. I would just do like a little army crawl over there, and he would have to run away,” Rousey told the station.

An Olympic bronze medalist in judo, Rousey won her last fight in less than two minutes.

“I would just be skittering after him like the one dude in Bloodsport that was doing the whole monkey crawl fight system. I would do that. I would just bear crawl over there too low for him to hit me, and I’d tackle him down…. I spent a lot of time [on the ground], and I doubt that he does.”

At least a few of the 60,000 or so people that have watched the interview on YouTube think that Rousey would definitely have a chance of taking “Money” out.

“You know, I've never thought about this before but I don't see how Ronda wouldn't win a fight between her and Floyd, apart from the old punchers chance,” one viewer commented. “Maybe if Floyd would have time to train, he should comfortably take out Ronda.”

“I have my money on Ronda, I actually think it'll be incredibly effective if she takes it immediately to ground game by staying real low, rather than standing and trading - you don't want to fight his fight unnecessarily when you can fight your own,” wrote another.
