LEXINGTON, Ky., March 5 (UPI) -- Erin Calipari, the daughter of Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball coach John Calipari, went on Twitter to address her dad’s critics earlier this week.
The Wildcats are currently 22-8, good for second place in the Southeastern Conference.
Erin chose to use numbers to address the haters.
People saying my dad should be fired, he won 81% of games @ UK. Coach K 79% @ Duke. Roy Williams 78% @ UNC. Pitino 74% @ UL...#forreference— Erin Calipari (@TheErinCalipari) March 4, 2014
She backed those up with similar stats the following day.
In their first 5 seasons: Calipari won 81% of games @ UK. Coach K 57% @ Duke. Roy Williams 81% @ UNC. Pitino 71% @ UL...#forreference— Erin Calipari (@TheErinCalipari) March 4, 2014
Her dad guided the 2011-2012 Wildcats to a national championship with the help of freshman sensation Anthony Davis. Still, John’s tenure with the team has largely been regarded as a failure and many people have speculated he will be gone after this season.
Erin’s sister Megan weighed in on the subject as well:
No matter what his daughters want to happen, it certainly seems as if Calipari’s days at UK are numbered. Here’s Dan Patrick talking about the situation:
