NHL: Los Angeles 6, Colorado 4

DENVER, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Anze Kopitar tallied two goals and an assist Wednesday in the Los Angeles Kings' 6-4 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

Kopitar's power-play goal at 3:13 of the third period broke a 4-4 tie and notched the victory for the Kings.

Jeff Carter and Justin Williams also had a goal and an assist for Los Angeles. Martin Jones stopped 25-of-29 shots on goal.

Jean-Sebastian Giguere turned aside 22-of-27 shots for Colorado. Jamie McGinn and Ryan O'Reilly both registered a goal and an assist.

Colorado built a 4-2 lead at 15:42 of the second period when Andre Benoit scored on a power play, but the Avalanche could not get past Martin again despite 11 shots on goal in the third period.
