SINGAPORE, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Karrie Webb rode a hot start Thursday into the lead after the first round of the LPGA's HSBC Women's Champions tournament in Singapore.

Webb, who won the Women's Australian Open two weeks ago, had birdies on four of the first six holes of the first round and finished with a bogey-free 6-under-66.

She's one stroke ahead of Paul Cramer and Caroline Hedwall, who also didn't have a bogey while shooting 67. Teresa Lu and Angela Stanford are tied for fourth at 4-under.

Webb's torrid start included birdies at Nos. 1 and 3 and back-to-back at the fifth and six holes. Those are all pars 4. She added birdies at the par-3 14th and the par-4 16th.

Creamer had all of her birdies in the first 13 holes -- again attacking the mid-range holes. Four of her five birdies were on par 4s. Hedwall birdied the first and seventh holes and pulled close to Webb with three straight birdies over Nos. 14-16.
