CANTON, Ohio, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- The Buffalo Bills and New York Giants have been selected to play in the Hall of Fame Game, the contest that kickoffs off the 2014 NFL pre-season schedule.

The game in Canton, Ohio, is scheduled for Aug. 3, the day after induction ceremonies at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Two of the seven members of the 2014 hall induction class are from the Bills and Giants.

Wide receiver Andre Reed played 15 seasons with the Bills and was selected for the Pro Bowl seven times. Defensive end Michael Strahan played his entire 15-season career with the Giants, also making seven Pro Bowls.

The other inductees are linebacker Derrick Brooks, punter Ray Guy, defensive end Claude Humphrey, tackle Water Jones and defensive back Aeneas Williams.

While it is the first time the Bills have played the Giants in the Hall of Fame Game, both teams have been to the event previously. New York played in the first Hall of Fame Game in 1962 and also appeared in 1972, 1985 and 2002. Buffalo played in the 1974, 1989 and 2009 contests.
