LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of his first-ever title fight, against Sonny Liston, Muhammad Ali officially joined Twitter on Tuesday.

The Greatest of All Time will be using the hashtag #AliTweet so his followers will know which messages are coming directly from the champ.

This was the first blow that Ali threw on Twitter:

The @MuhammadAli handle was active before Tuesday, but apparently Ali hadn’t actually been using it himself.

The bout between Liston and Ali, who was Cassius Clay at the time, took place on Feb. 25, 1964. Ali defeated Liston by technical knockout. Gloves from the fight were expected to fetch as much as $500,000 at auction.
