Querrey, Chardy, Sela net opening day wins at Mexico Open

ACAPULCO, Mexico, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- American Sam Querrey, Jeremy Chardy of France and Israel's Dudi Sela each posted a first-round victory Monday to begin the Mexican Open in Acapulco.

Querrey had the toughest match of the three, needing three sets to get by Mexican challenger Tigre Hank 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-3 at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess.

Chardy, meanwhile, breezed past Australia's Matthew Ebden 7-5, 6-0 in just over an hour, while Duda dispatched Alejandro Falla of Colombia 6-1, 6-4.
