NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The New Orleans Pelicans decided that their year-round mascot, Pierre the Pelican, was "too scary" for children, so they unveiled a more cartoonish version of him earlier this month.

But it seems they had no problems with "King Cake Baby," a monstrous, Chucky-like creature that's brought out occasionally for Mardi Gras.

King Cake Baby, named for the traditional ring-shaped dough cake that's sometimes baked with a plastic baby inside, terrorized fans once again at Monday night's Pelicans game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
