LOS ANGELES, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Florida police say they are investigating sexual battery allegations against ex-NFL player Darren Sharper, who faces similar accusations in four other states.

Charges against Sharper, 38, a retired defensive back and five-time Pro Bowl nominee, were filed five days ago in California for allegedly drugging and raping four women. An arraignment on those charges was scheduled in Los Angeles Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Sharper allegedly drugged and assaulted four women he met at a West Hollywood nightclub in October and January, the Times said.

Court documents filed Friday revealed additional rape allegations involving incidents in Las Vegas, New Orleans and Tempe, Ariz.

Fox Sports, citing a report by WTVJ-TV, Miami, said Thursday the investigation in Florida concerns a sexual battery report filed last month in Miami Beach
