SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic won the Olympic gold medal Wednesday in women's 5,000-meter speed skating.

Sablikova slowed down the Netherlands' speed skating victory train, but Dutch skaters still won the silver and bronze medals.

The silver went to Irene Wust and the bronze to Carien Kleibeuker. Wust became the first athlete in these Olympics with four medals.

This was the 10th and last of the individual speed skating races held at these Olympics.

Of the 30 medals awarded in those races, the Netherlands won 21. That is seven more medals than any one nation has won in any one sport in the history of the Winter Olympics.

The men's and women's team pursuit gold medals are still to be handed out in speed skating and the Netherlands will be favored to win them both.
