The German team that took part in the competition Monday was completely changed from the foursome that won the gold in Vancouver four years ago.

Andreas Wank, Marinus Kraus, Andreas Wellinger and Severin Freund made up the team that won Monday's gold. They piled up 1,041.1 points while Austria settled for 1,038.4.

Japan finished third with 1,024.9.

Germany has won three of the eight gold medals handed out in Olympic team ski jumping. The Germans' two straight victories have come after Austria had won the event two times in a row.
