SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- China suffered its first loss of the Olympic men's curling tournament Friday, but still emerged from the day's action in a three-way for first place.

Sweden rallied from a 4-2 deficit to defeat China 6-5, scoring in an extra end to finish off the contest.

China came back in the evening to defeat Norway 7-5 and concluded the day with a 5-1 record, the same as that achieved by Sweden and Britain.

The win over China came in Sweden's only game of the day and Britain also played just once, getting past Denmark 8-6.

Canada was alone in fourth place at 4-2, having recorded its third straight win with a 4-2 decision over Norway.

The Norwegians have a 3-3 record while Denmark, Russia and the United States are all 2-4.

The top four teams at the end of the nine-game, round-robin tournament advance to the semifinals.
