Olympic Medal: Men's Freestyle Skiing Slopestyle

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Joss Christensen won the Olympic gold medal Thursday in freestyle skiing slopestyle and led an American sweep of the top three places.

The silver medal went to Gus Kenworthy and the bronze to Nicholas Goepper.

It was the first American gold medal at the Sochi Olympics in any sport other than snowboarding and this was only the second sweep of the medals in any freestyle skiing event since the sport was introduced in the Olympics at Albertville in 1992.

This is the first Olympics in which freestyle skiing slopestyle has been contested.
