Fabio Fognini advances at Copa Claro with win over Mayer

BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Fabio Fognini and No. 3 seed Tommy Robredo both advanced with second-round wins Wednesday at the Copa Claro tournament in Argentina.

Fognini continued his hot streak on clay with a win over Leonardo Mayer, and Robredo dispatched wild card Guido Pella.'

Fognini lost a first-set tie-breaker to Mayer, but rallied to win the match 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-2.

Robredo lost the first set but prevailed 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Also advancing was sixth-seeded Robin Haase, who outlasted Carlos Berlocq 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2. Fourth-seeded Nicolas Almagro beat Horacio Zeballos and No. 8 seed Jeremy Chardy also won.

Pablo Andujar ousted fifth-seeded Marcel Granollers 6-3, 6-0.
