NBA: Utah 96, Los Angeles Lakers 79

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Alec Burks scored 24 points off the bench Tuesday to lead the Utah Jazz to a 96-79 win on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Burks hit 8-of-11 shots from the field in 29 minutes to help Utah win back-to-back games following their weekend win over Miami.

Gordon Hayward scored 15 points plus eight rebounds for Utah. Jeremy Evans contributed 14.

Chris Kayman scored 25 points and had 14 rebounds in the Lakers' sixth consecutive home loss, which tied a team record. Wesley Johnson scored 15 points and Steve Nash scored just two points and two assists before sitting out the second half with an aggravated back injury.

Los Angeles jumped out to a 27-16 lead in the first quarter but only scored 10 in the second period and shot 38.8 percent from the field for the game. The Lakers pulled to within one, 53-52, in the third quarter but the Jazz pulled away and outscored Los Angeles 28-19 in the fourth quarter.
