SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Sweden scored a point in the final end Tuesday to defeat Canada 7-6 and remain unbeaten in the men's Olympic curling tournament.
The Canadian men have won gold at the last two Olympics and Sweden has never medaled in the event. Sweden, however, did not trail in Tuesday's match and the victory boosted its record to 3-0 in the nine-match, round-robin tournament.
The top four teams at the end of that tournament will earn a spot in the semifinals.
Norway and China are also without a loss in the tourney, but both those countries have played only twice. The Norwegians produced a 9-8 win over Russia on Tuesday while China stormed past the United States 9-4. Britain defeated Germany 7-6.
Britain is alone in fourth place at 2-1 while Denmark and Switzerland are 1-1. Canada has a 1-2 mark, the United States and Germany are 0-2 and Russia is 0-3.
